Our Team & Background

What is Skippers?

We are building an IRL community of adventurers, nomads, entrepreneurs and vagabonds.

We want to improve the travel experience for international nomads, adventurers, long-stay travellers and domestic remote workers with a network of vibrant communities starting in East Africa and beyond.

We’ll do this while also giving back and integrating with local communities to help improve digital skills and empower the next generation. Read about our values.

The Animals of Skippers Kenya

All of the pets at Skippers are adopted and each has their own story of hardship. They are all super friendly, love being around people and love a good hug.

Cookie & Oreo

Rescue puppies, named after a biscuits by a group of kids visiting the restaurant Cookie (left) is a total softie and Orea (right) is quite independent but very friendly.

Chui

Named after the word for leopard in Swahili because she’s always climbing. Chui is not super into people outside but if she gets in the office she’ll be sitting on your keyboard in a minute.

Darthy

Still just a kitten (and Chui’s younger sister). She has had cat flu since birth so basically can’t smell. Not the brightest of our pack but she’s very friendly albeit a somewhat smelly.

Pabu

Our latest doggo. A true softie, she lost her owner and needed a home so we took her in.
